Congratulations Royal Oak Students and Staff!!

Congratulations Royal Oak students and staff! Together we ran over 1180 km and raised $674 to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation!!!!! We are awesome!!!! I would also like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing parent volunteers! We appreciate everything that you do to help us run school events like this one. THANK YOU!! Another HUGE THANK YOU to Royal Oak Sobeys  for donating Oranges so that every student could enjoy a healthy snack after their run.

Terry Fox Run

On Friday, September 27 th , Royal Oak School and William D. Pratt School will be participating in the Terry Fox Run.   Students will gather on the field between the two schools to take part in the annual 30-minute run, which is scheduled to begin at 11:00am.   Students attending afternoon Kindergarten are welcome to attend, if they are accompanied by a supervising adult.   The forecast is calling for snow, please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather, including running shoes, hats, mitts.  We are encouraging students to also wear Royal Blue to show their school spirit! We are asking that each child donate a “Toonie for Terry” for the Terry Fox Foundation during the week of September 23 rd -27 th .  All parents/guardians who are interested in joining their child/children in this event are more than welcome. Playground Safety

Playgrounds offer kids fresh air, friends, and exercise. So, it's important for everyone to make sure that we stay safe while using the playground. We can make sure that the playground is fun and safe for everyone by following some simple safety guidelines. Playing safely is important. If we know the rules of the playground, we are less likely to get hurt. We must know how to be safe and act responsibly at the playground. When we use our playground, we should:          Never push or roughhouse while on the playground and equipment.          Leave bikes, backpacks and bags away from the equipment and the play area so that no one trips over them.         Go down the slide one at a time and wait until the person in front of you is on the ground and has moved away from the slide. No climbing up the slide.         Move away from the slide as soon as you reach the ground.         Always slide sitting down, facing forward, feet first. NEVER slide down headfirs
